Sustainable Hudson Valley's Climate Solutions Week is coming up soon! There are great virtual and in-person events throughout the week of September 12-20. This years theme is... Creating the Future We Want

There are events for everyone -- including educators and kids -- to learn about local climate solutions using interactive events with active participation: Skill shares, site visits, hands-on trainings, live performances, letter writing sessions, group or community actions like tree plantings and installation projects.

We meet on the third Wednesday of the month. Our monthly meetings are open to the public. You can join us at the Town Hall.

Dutchess County public works will be hosting three events in 2026
June 6 (online registration opening May 6)
September 19 at Dutchess Co Fairgrounds (online registration opening August 19)
October 17 (online registration opening September 17)

Registration is required with a fee of $10. Spots are limited to the first 400 households to register.

To help our communities build understanding of the climate crisis and solutions at hand, Sustainable Hudson Valley has developed the RESTORE Leadership Academy with support and funding from The Rotary Foundation, Hudson Valley Rotary District 7210, Rhinebeck NY Rotary, Atlantic Canada Rotary District 7815, and Summerside PEI Rotary! This intensive adult education program lays out the reality and the solutions, painting a picture of the abundant work underway that participants can be part of. It explores best ways to communicate on the issue, and supports each participant in identifying a path for getting (more) involved.

The program is free to attend; participants agree to give back by taking part in a hands-on volunteer project chosen by each group. We soft-launched this summer in Poughkeepsie and Hudson. Participants will be producing a series of book discussions on Prepared Neighborhoods: Creating Resilience One Street at a Time, an exciting new guide for emergency preparedness and community building by Scott James.

Registration is open for sessions in Highland Falls (Sept. 26 and Oct. 10) and Spring Valley (Oct. 3 and 17). A special offering for educators in New Paltz on November 7 and 21 will be co-taught with master teacher Scott Beall of No Boundary Learning.

Don't throw it out, Fix it! Our volunteer fixers will try to fix all kinds of things -- for Free. No appointment needed.

What kinds of items get fixed?
